Little Venice - Paddington, London

The St. Mary Magdalene Church in Paddington represented the perfect location for Bell Tower Enigma. All the scenes from the short, except the ones in the bell tower itself, were shot in St. Mary Magdalene.

Besides the the impressive ornated nave itself with the high ceilings, it is better known for its atmospheric crypt and abandoned chapel in the basement. A feast for every location scout's eyes. The rough archaic look of the crypt combined with the well preserved ornaments of the chapel made it a real pleasure for the DOP to light and for the camera man to frame up the shot.

This beautiful location has been used for several other films, including the notable remake of Les Miserables who's cast was led by Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway
